Cobham
Victorian Pine Floorboards Restored
Tired, painted-edge Victorian floorboards in Cobham restored to warm, natural pine.
About this project
Under a worn carpet, the homeowners found the house's original pine floorboards, complete with painted borders, carpet gripper holes and several damaged boards.
First we swapped the split boards for reclaimed pine of the same width and fixed down every loose board. The floor was then sanded back to fresh timber with our dust-free machines, working carefully around the original skirting.
Pine slivers closed the larger gaps, and two coats of natural hardwax oil gave a soft, hard-wearing finish. The family were walking on the floor again after two days.
